European Parliament’s answer about FORMALDEHYDE


To a petition sent from Brasov to the European Parliament in 2008, connected to the breaking of the European environmental protection norms by Kronospan Brașov, an answer was received in which it is specified that once formaldehyde was put in the category 1 of carcinogen substances, this type of substance should not be present in products addressed to consumers due to high toxicity.

Further on, several years after this response, the European Union reclasified the formaldehyde from category 3 to the category 1b carcinogen and category 2 mutagen. Details AICI.
